Renee ElliottI met Mrs. Elliott in May 2007, at a Pink Ribbon Luncheon at one of the churches in our community. She has inspired me and others because of her brave heart and soul in her fight against breast cancer. Her survival years are 2 for now. She is taking chemo every week for a long period of time. She graduated with a master's degree. In May 2008 her breast cancer spread to two more areas in her body; there is no cure for her cancer ? triple negative. She just keeps going and going, working as an advocate for the community, church ministry, helping others back and forth to the hospital to get their treatments, and sitting with others on their death bed with encouragement. She is just an amazing, strong soul kept by God. What kind of woman is this? She says, "I keep busy to keep my mind." She has a 16 year-old daughter. She planned a fundraising luncheon in May 2008, downtown for over 150 people for our support group. Awesome! I applaud her for such courage. |
